The Speech Therapy and Education Program for Stroke Survivors (STEPSS) is responsible for individual and group SLP services for adults with acquired neurogenic communication disorders. These patients have speech, language, and cognitive-communication problems as a result of focal (e.g., stroke) or diffuse (head injury) brain damage. There are consistenly over 30 adult patients in the program and as one SLP graduate student commented: "It was great to work with adults who have a variety of impairments and have such a willingness to improve."
